  1. Practice.  It takes a while.


  2. Practice putting all of your weight on your front foot. Start out skating slow and then stopping, and as you start to get the hang of it increase your speed going into the stop.

  3. Starting out, it helps to glide a bit before you try stopping, start at slow speeds, and keep your stance wide. More weight should be distributed to the outside foot. Make sure to practice stopping on both sides, later on you'll be happy your proficient on both sides... have fun, and falling down is part of the learning process
