try to find Slovak friends in your area, and they will help you..listen Slovak radios on line, TV and books as well, can communicate as much as possible.

A teacher.

It is a difficult language that will request a lot of learning.

My brother was able to find a Slovak lady who had moved here to learn from.

His wife is Slovak too, but the teacher was able to help him much better.

Maybe you can find a teacher like that too.

Either through small ads in the newspaper, or one internet, by searching online to see if someone offers this service or through the embassy, they might have a list of teachers or just happen to know one in your area.

Find a czech or slovak speaking tutor. Books won't help you it  is a hard language. i speak it.....so i know, that is the best way. The books have wrong pronunciation and nobody will understand you, when you say something. You are lucky Slovak is easier than czech.
