I just got a new kitten and it is barely a month old, if that, and I'm taking it into the vet a.s.a.p. but we couldn't get her in until Wednesday so for now I'm trying to take care of things on my own. I'm feeding it milk replacer with a bottle and i'm working on trying to litter train her. does anyone have any good tips?

  1. i have a cat too..ok so this is wat we did at first we put the litter box in the kitchen and we placed him inside the litter box and we let him sniff and do w/e.then as he got use to it we let we moved it to the basement and we taught him to go there and again we placed him there..everytime my cat needed to go he always sctratched the floor. and then we would bring him to the litter box and h**l do his business..

  2. I think she is too young yet.

  3. usually cats are just born with the instinct of going in a litter box, but maybe your kitten is still to young.

  4. when she poos somewhere scoop it up and put it in the box, then show it to her.she might be to young to learn but i dunno.

thats how i taught my cats

    good luck!

  5. My cat who had kitten use to clean them untill 5 or 6 wks old, after that used to put them in the litter tray and wipe there bottoms with a damp cloth and they use to go its the same as the mum l*****g them. After a while should get use to it. The kitten is still young and they don't poo alot so u will have to be mum 4 a little while

  6. i had a cat and i started off with just newspaper in the litter tray because your cat needs a soft litter tray, and then slowly over a couple of weeks just slowly add sandy litter from tesco or something.

  7. Cats are supposed to be really easy to litter train. All you need to do is repeatedly show them where the litterbox is. It is a cats second nature to want to go in sand/litter, so it won't be hard.

  8. use a shallow litter pan and place her in it when you think she needs to go.

  9. Its a cats natural instinct to dig when it has to go the BR. I got a kitten that was about 5 weeks old, it was born to a ferral cat. this is how I taught him I put him in the litter box and took his teeny tiny paws and dug in the litter with them......after that he started using it!
