What is the best way to lock up my adult tricycle in NYC?

My boyfriend and best friend bought me a Worksman adult trike for my birthday. I am 25, having been afraid of riding bikes so long, but they were really encouraging and got me the bike! My fear now is that I live in Brooklyn and I have no idea how to lock it up without it getting stolen! It is way too large and heavy to keep inside, but I'd be heartbroken to lose it. Any tips on locking up such a massive bike?

  1. Thick chain intertwined between the front wheel and the frame. I doubt someone would steal the back wheels as what's the market for them? You could get a separate, thinner chain for the back tires, but the value in the bike is the frame itself.

  2. find a bike rack, Beside the bike rack, lock up the front wheel, like wrap it around to the bike rack, and then if you have enough go through the lower bar and then lock it up, it wont get stolen then.

  3. Use good cable locks with the keyed lock built into the cable to lock the wheels to the bike and use a kyptonite "U" lock to lock the frame to something.
