  1. a grease pencil is the best method and also it repels the water and will be easier to see when cutting with the wet saw...

  2. I used a sharpie but be sure to clean it with some rubbing alcohol after you finish cutting it or mark it on the waste side of the tile.

  3. There are white grease pencils that could do that. They are like crayons with a peel-back paper covering.

The other easy solution is to put a piece of masking tape on the tile near where you will be cutting. Then take your exact measurement and make a mark with a pen or pencil on that piece of tape.

  4. The corner of a dry bar of soap....

  5. Use a white wax pencil or a white paint pen.

  6. No offense to any answers but Rich Z offers a valid suggestion, IE; tape.

I tile every day of my life, and I'm even more curious as to why you ask? Any wet saw I have, has a guide that locks to the table, allowing my measurement to be cut, in the same fashion as a table saw for wood allows that with it's "fence"

If I had to make 100 perimeter cuts, knowing they'd all be the same, I'd lose time and money marking each tile. Beyond that, HOPEFULLY, you aren't using a wet saw and doing this freehand.

  7. go with bammer's answer, grease pencil sometimes called a china pencil is best; and color should not matter usually.
