I just pick them at random and I've had a lot of luck with this system.  Of course, it has been bad luck but that's a kind of luck, too.

The best way ( mathematically ) is to NOT pick any and save Your money.

Wont make You a million Dollars, but Your not going to loose Your money on the other hand.

If YOu play then choose combinations that are not picked that often.

Avoid all numbers between 1 and 31 as people pick their birthdays for example. If YOu should ever win then Your not going to have to share with many.

Nothing really works.  In fact if you look at the statistics, about 50% of players pick their own numbers and about 50% of players let the computer pick them (quick pick - when the lottery machine does it for you).  And statistically, the payout is about 50/50.  So there is no demonstrated advantage of picking versus random.

The only useful advice I've read is that if you pick a more unusual number sequence, should you win you are more likely to actually get paid the full jackpot, since it is less likely that someone else will have also picked the same unusual sequence.  But that's the only advice I've seen that makes any mathematical or logical sense.

Think of it this way.  With so many 'systems' out there online and in books, wouldn't you think that people that had a winning strategy would just concentrate on winning the lottery, rather than trying to sell books about how to do it?
