What is the best way to position furniture in a room?

I am moving to a bigger place and I was wondering if it is aesthetically ok to put a tv in the corner and then the love seat in front of it but then, of course, it would be at a diagonal in the room.

And is it okay to put your bed at a diagonal? I have a great eye for design but layout is hard for me. What do the "professionals" say about things in corners or diagonals? Thanks!

Watch some HDTV. Big rooms look great split into sections. Big T.V on the wall instead of in a corner. Draw your room out on paper before you decide. Saves you a lot of energy. ;-)

diagonals are great if you have the room . They use more space in the middle of the room, and create odd wall spaces.
