  1. Whether you are potty training a boy or a girl, I think the key is to not push them.  Each child develops differently and they have to have internal muscle control before they can start.  I looked for them waking with a dry diaper and built on their natural curiosity about the toilet.  I found a very safe and very sturdy stool with sides for the toilet so they could sit comfortably on their own and get excited about trying.  http://www.amazon.com/Elite-Child-Corpor...

My kids were so relaxed about using the toilet and doing things like big kids and adults that they potty trained right away.  This stool made all the difference and was well worth it.  Hope this helps.

  2. Wait until the childs is ready to be potty trained and use the toilet, not a potty seat/chair.  It has been proven that children who are trained on potty seats/chairs wind up wetting and soiling themselves when confronted with regular toilets and they only have regular toilets in preschools, day cares and elementary school.

  3. I havent potty train a two year old. But try leaving him on undies all the time...

  4. Just put them in unders with no diaper. When they have an accident you take them to the bathroom and tell them that's what they have to do from now on. If two days pass without progress then it's too early. Give it a couple weeks or months and try it again. Soon enough they'll be going to the bathroom even when they are wearing  a diaper.

  5. It's summer, so it's easy to potty train then! Get the potty chair out and let her watch if she has another potty-training friend visiting. Put the potty chair in the bathroom with you, so when you use the Big Girl Potty, she can use hers. She may ignore it at first, so let her decide when she's ready. She may sit on it fully clothed at first, and then maybe at bath time. If you're a free spirit, put the kiddy pool in the backyard and let her run around without a diaper. Bring the potty chair outdoors and she may use it.

Keep it easy, not pressured, and let it be her idea. You may want to some with her for some Big Girl Panties and save them for When She's Big Enough. Or you can let her  run around in panties outdoors while playing. She may wet them a few times, but then later decide to pee in the potty chair instead.

I'd expect her to still have bowel movements in the diaper for awhile. That's often more difficult than teaching them to urinate in the potty. If you have a boy, have dad show him how to "shoot" at Cheerios in the potty chair! ;-)
