What is the best way to prepare for a statistics class

i am taking stats 165 and have heard the teacher will not help students in the class and is very arrogant. i need a book so i can teach myself stats along with being able to take 3 other semi-demanding classes. keep in mind, i am a freshman in college, and i have no previous knowledge of statistics...

stat is something you can easily pick up on in the beginning of the course, but as it progresses i gets harder and harder. so basically, i would suggest reading the textbook that you are given pretty thoroughly. read the chapters before you actually are taught about them in class. and if you really need more help, getting an AP Stat review book could be beneficial. a lot of it is basically a statistics summary. good luck :)
