I get the script when I get to the audition. I do know that I will be recorded on camera when I'm auditioning.

  1. Read the play.   Depends on what kind of audition.  Why didn't you tell us?

  2. I believe that's called a cold read. They're tough. You only have a few minutes to get into the characters skin. Transform yourself into the character. YOU have to completely disappear. Make the audience believe they are watching the character. Good luck.

P.S. Always be prepared with a full repetoire. Be ready to speak a silioquy, tell a joke, dance, sing. These people may not give you THIS part, but they're always on the lookout for other parts. ALWAYS BE PREPARED.

  3. If you have the script you have to try out with, practice like there's no tomorrow.

If you don't, search for a website with a lot of monologues, and practice some of those. It'll help you with cold reading and will give you practice with getting into character.
