Question:

What is the best way to preserve tulips?

i have them in water and cut the stems a bit.. need them to last until at least tomorrow.. should i turn on my desk lamp all night for them?

  1. spray them with lacquer or put them in the fridge or both


  2. Use cold water for bulb flowers like tulips.

    To a quart water add two tablespoons fresh lemon juice, one tablespoon sugar, and a half teaspoon bleach. Alternatively use a tablet of Aspirin to make water acidic, but first method is better.

    Keep flowers out of direct sunlight ( and out of light from your desk lamp ), and move them to a cool place at night.

    Keep them away from fruit like apples, which releases a gas that causes flowers to age faster.
