What is the best way to protect my aluminum boat while in FL salt water?

18 ft. Lund Aluminum boat non painted bottom. Would it be cheaper to power wash bi- weekly than to apply anti foul paint ? Boat will be in water 2 months

  1. Wax it and wash it  down often. You might consider adding one of those salt water anodes to it also.


  2. Powerwash and add anti foul paint. Zincs on proper location should help.

    I had my aluminum boat in the (salt)water for about three months.The key is when you pull it out of the water to wash it very good,and keep your motor tilted up out of the water.The boat won't suffer near as much as the motor will.You can put some zinc annodes on it to help I suggest putting the majority of your effort in caring for the motor.I don't know where in Fl. your going but as a precaution stop in at a local marina and ask about adding some zinc's.
