  1. Don't do any diets.. the best way is to take antioxidants so it clears out the pathway of your digestive system, anything with yogurt in it, green tea, water, there is this special detox drink sold at Whole Foods that tastes like lemonade but you're not supposed to only drink that.  Stay away from extra fatty, greasy foods, they're usually what clogs your system.

  2. This stuff is a scam and just the latest fad to take people's money. There is no science behind it. If you urinate every few hours and move your bowels once or more per day you have nothing in your colon or digestive tract that is not supposed to be there.

  3. As many thumbs down as I'm likely to collect- you don't need to detox yourself.  Your colon is a self cleaning setup, all you have to do is eat right.  You know, regular foods.  Whole grains, veggies, fruits and the like, less red meat and refined flours.  Unless you have diverticulitis, you don't have pockets in your intestines where stuff hangs out, and unless you are regularly constipated nothing hangs out that long.  Anything that can be absorbed has long since been absorbed, and it's really really hard to leach things out of the body.  That particular process is called chelation.  It does remove toxic chemicals, things like mercury and lead, from the body.  But the chemicals involved in doing that are pretty nasty, and you can't drink them by mouth.  They are introduced via intravenous line, in the hospital, where you are constantly monitored by doctors because it's a really dangerous process.  Nothing you can eat or drink will do the trick.  Detox drinks and potions are just fancy, expensive laxatives.  They only empty your bank account and your guts, and diarrhea is nobody's friend.  If you are concerned for the condition of your insides, be careful what you put in them.  Good food in, no problem.  Bad diet?  Fine, change to a good one.  We've lived centuries without trying to clean our innards, and you innards will be much happier if you didn't try now.  Have some faith in the design of your body, and it's ability to take care of things.  You are better put together than you realize, and your body- in particular your intestines, don't much appreciate "cleaning".  Spend your money on decent food, bypass the odd potions.

  4. if you really think you need to, just get a colonic.  They work well and are really easy to do at home.
