What is the best way to register a domain name. (.com)?

i want to buy a .com address .i already know its availible. im just usure what is the best and most cost efficient way to go about it.

Much depends on the purpose of the name. Is it just for email or are you going to create a web site that must be hosted? Many companies will sell a package. For example I believe Godaddy will sell a name and email for a very low price.

Just registering a name does not do much since it still must be tied to something.

Godaddy.com has a good price to register your domain and gives you a free website (they put advertisement on top) but a great way to learn about websites.

I have three names at godaddy.com, so far very good.

Find a good price, then you can host your website anywhere,just point the name to the hosting address.

try jooster.com also, they have a low domain & hosting package,( I haven't had any problems wih their service) also on ebay there are usually companies advertising same sort of deal
