ok so I have been working out a lot over the last little bit. I am soar from the training but I just work through the soreness usually, and there is no pain involved.

What are the best ways for easing the soreness in my muscles? Ice baths? muscle relaxer cream... any ideas?

  1. definately take an ice bath.  if you are running at your school then you can go to your training room and ice.  And get their advice on what else you should do.

  2. make sure you stretch for 15-20 minutes before exercise. and then do a 5-10 minutes of a light warm-up. Also when you are done, make sure to stretch again, but only for a few minutes. then i would ice the muscles and put the muscle cream "bengay" on it. good luck

  3. try icing your muscles every night

    icy hot works well too

  4. you definately need to stretch before you workout, but only lightly. you really need to stretch hard after you run, because its better to stretch hot muscles. its kinda like a metal rod, if you try to bend one when its cold, it breaks. but when you heat it up, you can bend and shape it. so do some moderate stretching b4 you exercise, but really concentrate on the stretching prior to your execise.  and to get rid of the aches and pains, lots of people ice themselves, but i prefer running a very hot bath and just soaking and kind of stretching while your in there. it works well for me.
