I'm wanting to put new VCT tile in a bathroom (commercial space) because the existing VCT is very old & dingy.

  1. what are you trying to do you can install carpet over it with out pulling it up also laminate !

  2. You would be surprised but a lot of this tile is not installed properly and therefore comes up pretty easily.

Try a 6" wide putty knife (get a good one), start at the edge and wiggle it under the tile. if it pops up easily keep going.

If it is very tight you can get a small propone torch and heat up the surface of the tile until it is somewhat soft - put putty knife under it and work it up.

Usually most of the tile is easy to come up - you may need a torch for some of it.
