Question:

What is the best way to remove carpet fibers "trapped" under a Quick Shine application on a marble floor?

Though we cleaned and prepped the floor thoroughly before applying Quick Shine, the sponge mop must have picked up stray fibers from where the carpet meets the marble. Quick Shine worked great, but now the fibers appear permanently sealed under the clear coating. They can't be scraped out without damaging the marble surface. The manufacturer warns against using various household products over the application. This is a superior product and I'm sure there is a solution. For others considering using it on floors that meet up to carpeting, I highly recommend utilizing the blue painter's masking tape along the edge of the carpet before applying the Quick Shine.

  1. From the Quick Shine website FAQs

If needed, can Quick Shine® Floor Finish be removed from the floor surface?

If Quick Shine® Floor Finish has not been properly applied or maintained, it can be removed with our Quick Shine® Deep Cleaner/Wax Remover. Do not use the Quick Shine® Deep Cleaner/Wax Remover on laminate surfaces or unsealed wood.

  2. take an exacto knife and make a small cut on each side of the hair and then use tweezers to help remove it from the tile.

    Hope this helps.
