What is the best way to remove green algea from in-ground pool liner?

The water is clear, but there is a significant amount of algae on the liner (floor and walls).

I would say use a brush... lightly.  And shock it.

have you tried a copper or silver based algaecide?

I would use SHOCK. I have used that in my large blow-up pool in summer.
