I have tomato plants in my garden and we had a huge storm the other night. several of my bigger tomatoes got knocked off the vine and are still very green. is there a way to be able to ripen them? i would really like to try to save them.

  1. place tomatoes in a brown paper bag with the apples. It works fast. Good luck!

  2. try this link

  3. Put a shop-bought red, ripe tomato amongst your unripe tomatoes.  The ripe tomato produces a chemical that triggers ripening in the unripe tomatoes.  Before you know it, they'll all ripen at once and you'll be making pasta sauces with all your free time :)

  4. wrap with  a small sheet of newsprint paper and put in the big tub of uncooked rice -- always works!

  5. for bananas I place them in a brown paper sack over night try it with a tomato I bet it will work

  6. They will still ripen, just keep them in the sun...;-)

  7. i don't know. but i just wanted to say this for the fun of it. when something wasn't ripe and we wanted it ripe fast, my dad would put in in a big tub thing if dired rice. and it worked for some reason...

  8. put them in dry white rice. put them in a paper sack. keep them on a window sill, in the sunlight. run hot water over them two times a day. stuff like that... rice and the warm water waashes work best though.

  9. Put them on the window sill in your house. Turn them daily and they will ripen.

  10. Put them on your window sill and turn every other day and they will ripen wonderfully!

  11. well keep them in a warm place, and they should ripen faster. Or you could make fried green tomatoes! They're delicious!  Slice them and you just coat the tomatoes in corn meal or flour and fry them in a pan full of oil or butter! Look up recipes on google you'll love them!
