  1. buy a new one

  2. I would use Windex with vinegar.  The vinegar would get rid of any urine smell that you might not be able to smell but tiny noses close to the plastic might, which would give them the idea to go there.  Then let sit in direct sunlight as long as possible.  The windex also cleans plastic very well without damaging the surface.

  3. Well I have a Pet Carrier for my puppy and I clean it with that new Lysol 4 in 1 cleaner. It works great. When I am done, I also spray it out with Lysol

  4. What I did after using my pet carrier to transport a sick cat was take it apart and clean it with Lysol. Bleach is good too, if you have time to let it air out.

    Good luck!

  5. You a very mild bleach and water solution.. And rinse well... Let the carrier air dry in the sun... I wouldn' t spray too many chemicals in the carrier since some animals are very sensitive to chemicals.. Keep it simple....

    Good luck
