I am trying to make my own blackjack table... I am using a 6' x 3' wooden table (oval-shaped) and have a piece of felt of the same size. What is the best way to secure the felt to the table along the edges?

  1. I'd cut the felt so that it does not go all the way to the edge of the table. Staple it all the way around, then glue on some braid or cording to cover the staples.

You could also pull the felt tight and staple it to the underside of the tabletop..

  2. I've used SPRAY contact cement... spray generously on the wood and lightly on the felt... then apply CAREFULLY... with a few friends to hold the fabric up as you align it with the table.  Then I use a veneer roller to ensure a snug fit and press out air-bubbles.   I then add weight for 24 hours.

I never had to add anything further to make it work... though for a Blackjack Table you WOULD add an arm-rest that would secure and protect the edges.

    GOOD LUCK
