What is the best way to sell stuff you want to get rid of (besides a yard/garage sale)?

Yahoo highlighted some article about getting rid of your stuff for cash by having a yard sale, but we cannot all have yard sales where we live. So, what, besides that, is the best way? We all know that it's NOT craigslist, because people never answer ads on there. Is it eBay, or does that now only work for people selling many of the same few items over and over? What have you tried and what's worked? Online?/Offline? What are the pluses and minuses of what you've tried?

  1. you could try ebay or your local newspapers classified section or you could possibly set up a table at a local flea market ..pluses are that they are both reasonably priced to do but you may not attract as many people as you would online, good luck

  2. ebay

  3. I've always had good luck with e-bay. If you take the time to take good pictures and a good description you will be surprised at what sells and how much you can get.

Also see if there is a local paper in your are like the thrifty nickel, they charge for an add but not as much as the regular newspaper.

Also if it's something like housewares or furniture, you might want to make a little flier if you have a collage in your town. Also you might want to see if there are thrift stores close to you that will take things on consignment.
