I will be moving to New Zealand, but only plan to take clothing, a few books, CDs, and a couple of pottery pieces. I'm not leaving until Dec. and would like to start sending a few boxes prior to my departure.

  1. There is 1 great methods for you to ship your belongings.  One is through the post office which is much shipper  than the UPS service.

  2. There are a few options available to you. I would look into an international moving company. They often ship things in crates & containers  etc & depending on the amount of things you want to take they can advise you on the best options & prices. Another option would be to contact the airline & ask about sending it on ahead as freight but you do need someone at the other end to collect it for you if your not travelling at the same time. I think that the websites have this listed as cargo but should be of help to you.  Personally Id do some searching through google to see what you come up with. I too shall be doing this in the next couple of years  (NZ is my home so I cant wait to get back there) & have already decided on the moving company option but only because I want to take some of my furniture & bigger personal belongings with us. We are simply getting too old to start over again. We are also going to be taking our dog with us & thats the one thing that I dont have a lot of success in researching. Good luck with your move. Hope it all works out well for you.

  3. there's a company in nz (sorry dont no the name) but they specialize in over size and moving baggage. they will either put it on the plane with you or before you go. search international removalist in NZ yahoo???

  4. Call a shipping company to see whether they can send your supplies to your new address. You might have to purchase a barrel, fill it up, and off it goes. Good luck.
