  1. Barcelona, Madrid, Sevilla are big Spanish cities. I would go for the small towns that give you a real taste of the country. I like the ones in Extremadura: Caceres, Trujillo and Merida. And also the little ones in the coast of Asturias, Santander and the Bask Country. Andalucia is nice to visit, but... there is so much more to see in Spain!

  2. Barcelona is obviously a no miss.

Valencia, Madrid, Ibiza are my other fav cities in spain.

  3. Rent a car and travel through Andalusia. You will come back a different person. Try Seville, Granada, Cordoba, to name a few, but more important, just drive and stop and eat and enjoy. This trip will not only come reasonably cheap, it will bring you sun and ultimate happiness.

  4. Start in Barcelona and do the east coast line area. many nice villages.

  5. depends on what type you are. If you want to see a lot, start in Barcelona, then go south to Valencia, Alicante, Almeria, Malaga. Stay in Malaga for about 3 or 4 days and visit from there in a one day tour Granada and Cordoba. Then way out west to Marbella or Estepona and don't miss Ronda in the mountains in the north of Marbella. Then further on to Gibraltar, Cadiz and Jerez (that's where the best spanish Sherry comes from. If you like Sherry it's a must to visit the Sandeman distillery in Jerez. The best is the Medium Dry Sherry called "Amontillado" IMHO) and finally stay some days in Sevilla (that's where the Barbier by Rossini is located ;-) ) it's really worth a look.
