  1. A little less, and still less for bouncy pitches like perth.

  2. keeping a pace bowler is easier than keeping a spinner.

First u  have to have an idea about his pace, then measure the dist accordingly be relaxed and keep.

  3. You want to primarily be catching the ball about waist height, better yet as it is on its downward t. There is no need to get into the crouch position before the bowler starts his runup.

What i tend to do is wait until the bowler is approaching the crease, and then get into the crouch position. the crouch position is effective because it is at this base that you can use your legs and generate power should you have any bowlers who enjoy sending the ball spraying to all ends of the wicket.

A tried and tested way to determine a great keeper is the way he takes the ball on the inside of his body. Selecters look for those things. Watch the South African wicket keeper Mark Boucher, his technique is amazing.

  4. Decide your distance according to the pace.

    Example.

    Bretlee -10feet approx

    Ishant    9  ,,          ,,

    Zaheer   8 ,,       ,,   ,,

    S.clark  5     ,,         ,,

    Vaas     1     ,,         ,,
