my plan is to act in a small project, get a copy of the film, and try get an agent from that, is that a good way of going for it? I have a steady job so money isn't really an issue.

  1. yes that is a good start but you also need to set up a resume, get a headshot, and have a bit more experience than that.

but you never know some agencies will just like you without ANY experience!

    best of luck hunny!

  2. Being proactive and also creative are two great ways to get a professional acting career.  You should build your resume but I think your idea is worth a shot.  You may also be interested in Casted As, a free social site for actors - just one more place to get your name out there.  The url is: www.castedas.com

    Good luck to you!

  3. Well, that's a good place to start! One film however won't land you an agent. You need to build up a pretty solid resume - agents don't just take newbies off the streets unless it's for extra work.

There are lots of books out there about how to get into acting on a professional level. It's a business. Check out "How to be a Working Actor".

  4. that's actually a really good plan.  this site should be able to help you land small roles easily: Hollywood-opportunities(dotcom)

  5. un said it. and agent

  6. Well you have the financial security taken care of. Now the rest depends on your acting background. YOu dont need a demo reel to get an agent, though if it were really good, it may help.  YOu need talent, experience and training.
