What is the best way to store a lock of hair, so the DNA is not damaged ?

I believe you need to have the root of the hair, not just a strand.  I agree with everything everyone else said.

I would pick the vacuumed sealed glass jar with a glass lid, as metals and plastics may contaminate the DNA.

Keep it away from sunlight, UV rays can damage DNA.

Put it in a vacuumable bag or jar.

Put that bag in a box that is entirely opaque.

Store that box in a climate-controlled environment.
