What is the best way to store garden picked cucumbers? Mine keep getting soft by next day.?

I sent this to Hints From Heloise and she published it a few years ago.  After you pick them, put a little but of melted wax (from a candle or paraffin) on the end that was attached to the vine.  This seals in the moisture and they won't get soft.  It works - I promise.

You can either keep them in the fridge or on the countertop - whichever way you prefer to eat them.
