  1. In a airtight container in a cool dark place.  If you have a vaccum sealer you can use that or any air tight container.  If your coffee comes in a sealed bag or tin-they are fine, but the bags of coffee should be put in a different airtight container.  Coffee will stay fresh for  about 2 weeks, so don't buy more than you will use in that time.  The freezer is not a good place for coffee because 1) coffee is porous and will take on flavors in your freezer, just like it takes in all of the yummy hazlenut syrup and mocha flavors that we love-but you don't want coffee that tastes like a freezer.  2)  When coffee roasts is releases it's oils and freezing breaks down the oils therefore ruining the flavor.  If you happen to get a bunch of coffee beans(ground coffee should not be frozen) in bulk, you CAN freeze them until they will be used, but you must take care to thaw them properly, not let any condensation develop on the beans, and do not re-freeze.  The fridge is a bad place for coffee and your coffee will come out tasting like last nights left overs.  Sealed/unopened bags or tins of coffee have a shelf life of about 2 years. and once they are opened, about 2 weeks.

  2. Coffee has four enemies: moisture, air, aromas/odors and heat. It is important to keep coffee in an airtight glass/plastic/metal container out of direct sunlight or incandescent light. Avoid aluminum because it will transfer a metallic flavor to your coffee.

It is very important that the container you choose is washed thoroughly on a regular basis (with a light detergent and water). The oils from the coffee will transfer onto any surface and will go rancid over time. I recommend washing the container each time you go to refill it with fresh coffee.

Many people store coffee in the refrigerator or freezer, although there is no proof that it will keep the product fresher than at room temperature. I do not recommend this as it will allow condensation to form on the coffee which accelerates the staling process.

If you buy both regular and flavored coffees, be sure to keep your containers clearly marked. Placing a regular coffee in a container that previously contained a flavored coffee could result in the transferring of the flavor and contamination of the regular coffee.

Always keep coffee out of direct sunlight. Exposing the coffee to heat will allow the natural oils in the coffee to go rancid (especially if they are dark roasts). Choose a cool place to store your coffee. In the pantry is usually just fine.

  3. Never in the fridge or freezer as some people think, it dehydrates it.  Just put it in an airtight container (I use Rubbermaid) and keep it in a cool, dark place, like your cupboard, away from heat sources.

  4. in its original package-open carefully and then in a paper bas coled well.i´ve even read this in the package it comes in!

  5. Definitely in an airtight container. If you'll use the coffee within a week, just store it in a clean, airtight container.

If you need to keep it for more than a week, keep it in an air-tight container in the freezer.  (You don't have to let it thaw to use it.)

  6. In same package, not in Fridge
