I have about 250 feet of 10 gauge wire to strip down and scrap, and in my reasonable collection I don't have any 10 gauge wire strippers.

  1. dont worry about stripping it.  for that long of length it would not be worth your time to strip it for a little more money.

dont burn it.   not only is it illegal to burn the insulation off,  because it is plastic,  the scrap yard will give you the same amount for burned wire than it would for insulated wire.

  2. take a knife and start down one side and then pull backwards against the wire. some should come off but this sounds like a long process.

  3. The last resort, u can cut it with a utility knife.  Cut it like a carrot.  Besides, all wire cutters can cut a 10 gauge.  U can tied 1 end to a post and start by running the knife along the wire to slice it  and it will peel off .

  4. fire my friend, use fire to burn it off.

but im pretty sure scrap yards give a reasonable price for copper wire as is
