I have an old deck that has old white paint on it that is chipping away. I don't want to have to replace the whole deck. The wood is gray. What is the best way to get off the old paint? Is it going to be possible to stain it, instead of painting it?

  1. I don't think you will be able to completely remove old paint, power wash area and see if it's coming off. You may have to stay with white stain deck paint, if so power wash whole deck remove as much paint as possible, let

deck dry and repaint with deck paint. Please be careful if treated lumber is too old and was left to turn gray, power washing may damage decking, then you will more likely be replacing decking.

  2. U can sand it with a sander or power wash it off. Thats the best way to do it. Then let it dry and stain it. Make sure u also seal it after.

  3. P-R-E-S-U-R-E-W-A-S-H-E-R WILL GET 95%

OF THE PAINT,THEN JUST USE A SCRAPER ON THE REST.LET IT DRY FOR A WEEK OR SO,THEN DO WHAT YOU WILL WITH IT.
