What is the best way to take a train from Irvine, Ca to Hollywood?

Take Metrolink from the Irvine station up to LA Union Station.  Then take the Red Line subway to Hollywood.

well you can take metrolink from Irvine to Union station (hold on to your metrolink ticket [as it will be valid as a pass on the Metro Red line (subway) then you can take the Red line into Hollywood

(you could also take Amtrak but its cost are a bit higher

and their (Amtrak tickets are not valid on the Red Line)

Step on train.....Make sure it is heading to Hollywood.  When stopped in Hollywood, Step off train
