  1. I use Firstrade http://www.firstrade.com/.  They're cheaper than most big name online discount brokerages like Etrade, TD Ameritrade, Schwab, and Scottrade.  Plus, even though Scottrade is cheaper than Firstrade, I find Firstrade to be better because they offer free dividend reinvestment plans (DRIPs), which Scottrade fails to offer.  For more information about opening an international account at Firstrade refer to the website: http://www.firstrade.com/public/en_us/pr...

  2. www.tdameritrade.com

    I use tdameritrade and its like 9.99 a trade

  3. I use Scottrade;

    http://www.scottrade.com/

    I really do not endorse them or any on-line broker. I guess most do what they supposed to do. Scottrade has a fun Trading Platform with all the colors flashing and pretty things jumping, and you can open Charts and a live ticker feed showing all stocks. It seems to have many good resources. I been trading stock since 1985, so, I really not use much of their candy to elaborate as too much of how great they are. All I need Scottrade to do is execute my trade when I tell them. I do like the Candle Charts, they helpful. I learned to read Candles well with FOREX.

    I do know, if, you go to the Link above, on the right they have a "Chinese Services" so, they may also open accounts for Australia. I would guess you fund the account with USD which right now about = with the AUD. You can e-mail them and ask.

    Many years ago before on-line brokers I used a local Bank for Stock Brokerage. They more than the Internet and less than full blown brokers, and, they not offer much in the advice area, but, they could get a lot of Stocks I wanted. Back then they cost around $35 USD per trade for an average. But, maybe that an option you may have too.

    I wish I could help more, but, I did want to try and help as I did not see anyone answer. I could call Scottrade in the morning (about 12 hours when they open) and add some more here. I think you about 1/2 through your day, we about ready for a shower and bed here in a few more hours. ;-)
