While I've never played a minute of serious rugby, I've always been interested in joining an active, top-notch club. There's a handful of local semi-pro clubs in my area that are recruiting right now and while I've been looking at joining up with one of them, I know that I need to get in better shape to truly be effective on the pitch.
What is the best way to go about training to secure myself a spot with a top-notch club? Should I focus more on cardio strength and stamina, or should I focus more on the brute strength of my muscles? Are there any specific diets/training programs that would work better than others?
Any advise that can be provided on the topic would be greatly appreciated!
