  1. Video Editing app supports HD may have 1 month trial

or if you're on Vista, Movie Maker  in the Home Premium & Ultimate versions support using & making high definition files

    Capture video stream via firewire

  2. The de-facto standard to transfer digital video to a PC is the firewire (also labeled I-link, S-400 or IEEE 1394) connection. Your PC needs to have a firewire port (or buy a firewire PCI card and install it). First check the connectors because firewire uses different connectors (small 4p used in the camera and laptops or big 6p used in most desktops). Then go to your store and get a firewire cable with the right connectors i.e. 4p-6p firewire cable.

You'll need software also. XP includes moviemaker but it doesn't support HD so you'll have to look for something more pro like Sony Vegas or Adobe Premier

  3. It should show you how to do it in the manual
