What is the best way to transfer money overseas?

I've been living in Australia for 3 years now and getting ready to move back to Canada. I won't need the money immediately (a 4 week waiting period would be ok) but don't want to loose too much money in fees and exchange rates.

Your best bet is to work with a bank that has branches in Australia and Canada.  They should do it for you for minimum or no fees.

I've done this from UK to US both ways.
