What is the best way to travel in the UK without a rental car?

I'm planning a golf trip in the UK and i have no clue how to get around without a rental car since I'll be under 25 yrs old.

  1. They have trains, you know!  Also a large variety of bus services going all the way to Scotland and to Lands End. (They are the cheapest).  Get hold of a Fodor or Lonely Planet guide in your library.  they cover everything.
