  1. i tried this driving but only made it 400 miles before my car was stolen (right in front of the polica station)

flying taxis ect  look poor use the curency of the country things are cheeper there then in US . 20 dollers got me taxi date dinner movie with change to spare

  2. I think you should travel by bus or by plane, it depends on the money you are going planning to spend. I recommend you to visit the Argentina and specialy the Patagonia and the south in Argentina. It has lots of amazing places, friendly people, good food, beautiful hotels ana more things to enjoy in the Patagonia. If you want to find touristic information see in http://viaggi.patagonia-argentina.com There you will find all you need to travel to the Patagonia.

  3. Forget about driving!! The cheapest way would be by bus. There is a wonderful bus company in Peru called Ormeño and they go to Chile, Argentina, Ecuador) They can take you there for quite a reasonable price. The cheapest way to go to Brasil now a days is via Gol airlines (www.voegol.com). However, if youare willing to pay a little bit more, you can try Lan airlines. There is Lan Peru, Lan Ecuador, Lan Chile and Lan Argentina nd you can booka  whole package to take you to all those countries. Albeit it is far more expensive, this is the most expensive option.

If you want the cheapest option, I would fly to Peru and then go to Chile and Argentina via Ormeño bus. And then fly to Brazil via Gol.

  4. Travel in Latin America depends on which city you are in, the countries don't vary that much as far as traveling is concerned.

In Brazil, (which, by the way, is the fifth largest country in the world, giving the US is fourth), the best way to travel is by bus, and that goes for all of the other countries if you are thinking about exploring their countryside. You are going to find that many of the cities in Latin America are small towns with plenty of mountains and wilderness around them, so traveling by bus is a great way to see all of that natural beauty.

However, in big cities, such as Buenos Aires, Santiago, Salvador, Brasilia, Bogota, Caracas, Quito, Belo Horizonte, Manaus, La Paz, Porto Alegre, and especially Rio de Janeiro and Sao Paulo, you will find that it is always best to get a cab or even a private car. Public transportation in those cities is unreliable and could be very dangerous, so taxi and private cars are a great way to get around safely.

Travel by plane anywhere in South America is almost always a hassle, because there is a rule that says that something always goes wrong, and that varies from having your bags missing, to being transported somewhere else due to airport problems and loosing a lot of your travel time. Rarely will you have no problems at all when traveling by plane.

One more tip I can offer is that Latin America is a very Mountainous place, and almost everywhere you go (except in the Amazon Rainforest and the Pantanal in Brazil) you will find rough terrains and more and more hills. Make sure you can adjust to altitude sickness, especially in the Andes, and also to the overwhelming moisture in the Rainforest.

Besides all of the stereotypes about Latin America, however, you will find it to be a breathtaking, wonderful place. Make sure not only to visit the big cities, but also the natural wonders of Latin America.

The fifteen top spots, in my opinion, in South America, are:

    1. Rio de Janeiro, Brazil.

    2. Buenos Aires, Argentina.

    3. Macchu Picchu, Peru.

    4. The Amazon Rainforest and Manaus, Brazil.

    5. The Iguacu Falls, in both Argentina and Brazil.

    6. Santiago, Chile.

    7. The Andes, stretching through the west coast of South America.

    8. Fernando de Noronha, island of Brazil.

    9. Montevideo and Puntas Arenas, in Uruguay.

    10. Salvador, Brazil.

    11. Quito, Ecuador.

    12. The Angel Falls, Venezuela.

    13. Brasilia, Brazil.

    14. Porto Alegre, Brazil.

    15. Lima, Peru.
