  1. Trains.

  2. it depends from where to where.

  3. train, definitely.  if you're doing a whole lot of travelling, get a EuroRail pass, it will be the cheapest way to go, and ICE trains are very fast

  4. backpaking

  5. Euro Rail...have fun

  6. Walking or the train...

  7. Train.  Get a euro-rail pass and you can travel almost anywhere on almost any train.

  8. walking is the most cost effective

  9. i think wlalking

  10. the train is the best you can get a rail pass depending on your age you can get a youth pass I think the max age on that is 25.  I got one of those for 2 people on the ticket for 5 stops and it was around 300 Euro no bad when you consider the fact that you can take almost any train at any time to any where.  You can get passes with more or less stops on it.  It is also a good idea to get to the train station a little early on the day you want to go and reserve a seat it helps out a little, I went on a 2 hour trip and had to stand the entire time.  Don’t get tickets as you go it will cost more, and if you don’t have set plans (a good idea not to because you may really like some place and want to stay longer) it allows you to be free to go when every you want.  don’t worry you can usually find some one at the train stations that speak English and the train schedules are easy to figure out.  You might end up needing to rent a car we did make sure to get one with gps, we used the one to go to smaller towns the trains do go to most but then you will end up walking for miles to see the castles ad stuff.  Stay at hostiles they are cheaper then hotels and when you decide to move on to the next town they have lists of ones in the area and most have internet.  I stayed at a 4 star hotel for the same price as a hostel.  Hostels also have tours and know all the good places to go in town (most also have bars).  All the ones i stayed at had breakfast.  I spent 2 weeks traveling around had 2 rental cars went on tour buses and it cost less then $2000.  not to bad looking at everything i did and saw

  11. Well that depends on the country.  In Spain, for example, the buses are generally faster and more efficient than the trains, whereas in Switzerland the train is the way to go.  Obviously, if you want to travel long distances, flying is the best (and usually cheapest) way to go.

  12. By plane...
