What is the best way to view TV without cable or Satellite and use Aeriel and digital converter box?

I know it depends on my location on the reception (like mountain area, etc) but I want to cancel my tv bill and go to just local channels and sign up for netflix or something like that. I dont watch the tv and I am tired of paying for it. I am on the computer most of the time. So I just wanted to have a decent picture for the little bit I am on.
