Wash in cold water, and dry on the lowest heat. If it is a large rug, too big for your washer, take it to a commercial laundry and do it in the bigger washers and dryers.

I wash in cold water, rinse in white vinegar and hang to dry.

I always wash mine in the washing machine and I dry them in the dryer,never have a problem with the rubber backing. I use cold water tho.

you can throw it in the washing machine -but after a few times it's going to wear out the rubber. if you want to keep that intact - try a topical cleaner...like resolve for carpets - that soaks into the carpeting on the rug and you can scrub it clean without damaging the rubber

Put it in the washer and then tumble dry on low heat,works great for me.
