What is the best way to wash a new car

DOn't use wool, it leaves swirl marks...

1) Use microfiber wash mitt and towels

2) Use a 2 bucket wash system. This means one bucket for your soap and water... A second for rinsing, with a painters screen at the bottom to filter out anything the mitt may pick up while you scrub the car.

3) Use a wash/clay/wash/polish X3/wax system... In the car detail world we wash with regular, non ultra dawn to break up any existing wax on the surace, claybar the finish to take any impurities out of the paint, then wash with a good automotive shampoo (to remove the detail spray from claying), I like Meguiar's... The use the Meguiar's three stage polish system with a dual action buffer so you don't burn through your clear coat or paint, then wax. The color of your vehicle detrmines the type of wax you should use... Darks and reds look best with a synthetic (such as meguiars NXT) and lights look best with a caranuba.

4) ALWAYS dry with a chamois, and never go in circles (again swirls)

I know I sounld like a meguiars commercial, but I have tried many and found it to be the best, with mothers a very close second

A few last things... Wash wheels and tires first, using a microfiber towel on the rims, that way you don't get any splash from them on the body of the car... Also when you're drying and detailing dress the tires first, this prevents the dressing from whipping onto the body of the car when you drive off because it's usually dry by the time you're done...
