What is the best way to wash my hair while avoiding getting a new neck tattoo wet??

I just got a neck tattoo and it is quite close to the hairline and the base of my skull..I have to wash my hair and I am trying to figure out the best way to wash it without getting the tattoo

you'll be okay - just wash your hair quickly and pile it up on your head to dry rather than let it hang down your neck. it's okay to let it get a little wet, you just don't want to soak it. Wash your hair last, and pat the tattoo dry (don't rub at it) as soon as you finish washing your hair.

you can just wash it. i did my  neck tattoo few days back and i just bathe as usual. you can try placing your hair at the side or maybe piling it on top.

It is ok to get it wet just don't soak it.Washing it daily with soap and water is a good thing.Make sure you pat it dry with a paper towel (no fuzzies) do not rub it and don't dry it with a regular towel

The other people were right, It can get wet, just not completely submerged in water.

And you can totally cover it up.

And there's a third option: Use a waterless shampoo.  That's the kind that are used on patients in hospitals who are bedridden.  They sell it in most beauty supply stores.  That's a little extreme though and not that neccessary.. but an option nontheless.

why don't you just bend over and put your head under the faucet and wash your hair that way?

You should know that you can get the tattoo wet, you just can't submerse it in water, such as going in a pool or sitting in the tub. But if you want to cover it, use saran wrap or a waterproof band-aid.
