What is the best way to work out package and postage costs to charge buyers on ebay?

  1. You should weigh what you're going to sell (including packing materials) and measure the box you'll be shipping it in before listing your item.  You can then use the eBay shipping calculator to estimate postage costs (although I've found their estimates are sometimes low).  You can also go to USPS.com and UPS.com and input your package specifications to get estimates from them.

    If feasible, USPS Flat Rate Priority mail is super easy.  As the name states, they charge a flat rate for anything that will fit in a flat rate box (check USPS.com for more information).


  2. What our daughter does is package the item before it sells, and get a weight on it using a home scale. Then she goes to the post office's website (usps.com) and lets it figure out the price.
