  1. If it's a romantic dinner, I'd spring for champagne!! It's a lot easier to drink than certain full-bodied wines, and after a few glasses, love is in the air. Have fun!

  2. Pinot Grigio

  3. It depends on what food you're eating.  Wine is generally paired to the food...

With fish do a sauvignon blanc or riesling, unless it's salmon or tuna, then do pinot noir...

Filet mignon would pair well with pinot noir as well... most other red meats will go better with merlot or cabernet sauvignon.

If you're doing pasta with red sauce, go regional Italian red like chianti or sangiovese and pasta with white/garlic sauce would be best with pinot grigio or even a chardonnay.

More expensive does not necessarily mean better... and I've been known (on many occasions) to order a glass of one thing to go with my appetizer and then something else to go with my meal, depending on what I've ordered.  If it's a large wine list and you're unsure, it's fine to ask your waiter/waitress if they have a wine steward or sommelier that could assist you.

  4. Black Opal Shiraz

  5. some kind of burgundy wine.  It all depends on what food you're having but pinot noir is always good.  The burgandy red wines are really a treat, and they go well with red meats.

listen to this first.  Its my opinion only but if you're having a romantic dinner and you want a very good wine.  GET A FRENCH WINE!!

If you're eating pasta I would go with alsacian wines.
