What is the best year for an American exchange student to come to England ?

The student is 13 going on 14, and is currently in Year 8, going on Year 9. What is the best time for her to come to England for a year ?

  1. not quite sure how to interpret your question - the school year in England starts in September - so if you were  wanting to spend a complete year here then it would be wise to come in July/August and see if you can find a school with vacancies and work through the school year complete.

    Or do you mean the best time for activities - if so what about 2012 when we have the Olympics here

  3. If you're asking about the best year for her to join then Year 9 or 10 is probably the best. Year 11 is the GCSE year and thats when the work and pressure start- In fact year 11 is rubbish! Year 9/10 is much more fun and less work! That's how i remember it anyway! School year starts in September so you need to have a placement at a good school by around June/July latest :)
