yes adobe.com is a good place for graphic and website software, but also try the Flash, dreamweaver,and freehand trials with the photoshop trial.

GIMP is pretty decent, and free but can be frustrating sometimes. It does have some photoshopesque features.

I'd say it probably helps to code yourself for alot of it. Although that probably doesn't really answer your question...
