  1. quarter horse or a well trained grade horse.

  2. Breed is one of the least most important thing to consider when purchasing a horse.

It is far more important to consider his temperament, his ability, his age, his size, etc.  You also need to have a connection with him.  He may be the prettiest horse in the field, but if you don't have a bond with him you shouldn't buy him.

A cross breed would probably be best for you.  Perhaps a Cob x TB or a TB x Irish Draught.  They are reliable but have that little bit of spark due to the TB blood.

If you are unsure about what you should be looking for, take your instructor with you when you go to view a horse.

  3. appaloosa, welsh and quater horse, poa,PONY

  4. You want a horse that fits you in temperment, size and skills. It is good to have an older well trained horse that will be patient while you are improving your own skills.Grade horses are just fine.
