What is the big deal if we all have solar to help our energy

why can we not mass produce solar panels for our businesses, homes and for agriculture at little expense...would it not cut our use more than half? I would think this is fast action, while we can still drill and expand for America only. Our prisons are full, we can cut expense by having non viloet offenders manufacture I mean there are so many ideas or am I just crazy.

The average cost to put solar panels on the average American house is $70,000.

If you have that kind of money laying around, go for it.

Even if we go to solar energy over the next 20 years, that does nothing for gas prices. We don't use oil to make energy, we use coal, natural gas, nuclear, and hydroelectric sources.

The ONLY things that will bring down the price of gas to drill our own, build more refineries, and stop congress's spending and borrowing from the Fed so the dollar stops dropping in value.

You are missing the point what they want is to control our need. Obama said no more heat at 72. Remember control not usage.

Solar panels do not work at night or during cloudy conditions so can only be used to supplement conventional energy sources not replace them.

Mostly because we simply cannot afford the price of that many solar panels.

And no consumer could afford the price of solar electricity.

I priced a solar system for my house a couple of months ago.  In order to save $87 a month electricity bills I would have to install a system that costs $33,000.  (Yes I would get a $10,000 tax rebate, but that would be coming out of _your_ pocket!)

Because solar power is still expensive for the average American to purchase.  We also don't have the technology to harness the power to make vehicles up to a quality standard.  Solar power would be great...if we could use it more efficiently, and at a cheaper price.
