  1. Nobody I know has one. Suposenly its make the pictures "more real" and all that stuff. The consule is really big and I dont really like it. I wouldnt buy it.

  2. Nothing, I've seen them and they look the same as a DVD.

  3. It allows for a more detailed picture and full spectrum audio.

This allows movie companies to add additional angles, behind the scenes, more audio commentary and even the entire music score.

Blu-Ray uses a blue laser which is more expensive to make but has a thinner beam of light than the traditional red laser systems for CD and DVD.

You can place a few DVDs on 1 Blu-Ray disc because the thinner beam of light write more data in the same space.

This also gives the movie industry more control of their copyrighted material. Blu-Ray has a very complex and expensive encryption system that prevents video or audio from being copied using known methods of cracking the security systems found in most DVDs.

  4. Well, if you dont have an HDTV you wont see any difference.

If you do have an HDTV - try watching the standard def CBS channel one night, then switch to the HD version.  There is a HUGE difference because HD has a lot more information per screen of video.

Standard DVD is standard def. BluRay is high def.  There is a huge difference in image quality.

If you dont see it, you likely have not setup your system correctly.
